To qualify for the Veteran Payback/Rebate Program, you will need to provide proper verification of your service with a DD214 or equivalent document. The veteran must also be one of the purchasers of the home, with the exception of a widower of a veteran. After the completion of 7 years in the New Custom-Built Home Ownership Program, your Monthly Principal Payment will begin to be reduced every 6 months until the Fixed Payment Contract is paid in full. Then the Veteran or Surviving Veteran spouse will receive the Payback/Rebate Payment until 100% of the Fixed Payment Contract is paid in full, with the exception of any upgrade charges. (If the purchaser is late more than 7 days during the duration of the Fixed Payment Contract, the Veteran Payback/Rebate Program will be forfeited.)
